What you will learn
The main forms of pollution found in wastewater can modify the equilibrium of the river. Depending on the magnitude of the discharge, the river can defend itself through the self-purification process. This process was therefore the inspiration for the design of wastewater treatment plants and for the identification of the parameters that must be permanently monitored to ensure their proper operation.
