Tracer gas can be used for leak detection in drinking water networks by injecting gas (helium or a mixture of nitrogen and hydrogen) into the network and using a gas detector to locate leaks. In this course, we look at the necessary preliminary steps, how to inject the gas into the drinking water network, as well as how a tracer gas detector is used.
